Notable rivers of Pekua upazila are Bholar canal and Buri. Pekua upazila is bifurcated through Bhola canal. The two banks of the river have been constructed by the Water Development Board. The Bhola canal originates from the hilly small rivers of Matamuhuri and Pekua upazilas. It joins Shilkhali, Barbakia, Pekua, Magnama, Ujantia in the Bay of Bengal. At one time this river was the main means of communication in Pekua upazila. Even today goods are transported from one place to another through this river on a limited scale. Moreover, a rubber dam has been set up on this river to facilitate cultivation of winter vegetables and paddy. At present agriculture is done by the water of this river. In addition, many fish are found in this river.
